mate' drinking gourds, growing???

Finally made the plunge to traditional mate' drinking. My gourds had a few seeds in them that supplier said may be viable. Anyone ever grow these things? I guess I would want to know about mate' plants if ever grown here too. I been gone. What happened to experimental forum?

Maybe you should explain what Mate' is not too many people north of Argentina are familar with it.

Actually I think enough are, why drive health care costs higher for me.
The demand supply curve is still in my favor.

I still don't have a clue about mate' drinking gourds. My advice is plant your seeds and see what happens.

Well, they are up, Drought conditions here might not help but if they like heat they are getting it. Plan on them climbing fence normally used by the morning glories.

I got more than a few gourds now and probably more will show up after a frost. Some are really to big for drinking I think.
