Well, you don't give us much to go on, like what you want it to look like and such. How tall? How tall to the plumes? How wide? What color? Broad foliage or narrow foliage? Do you want variegated leaves? Will you use the plumes for arrangements? ;>)

It's never a problem to offer suggestions or even advice but your question is so limited in its request and the answer could be so varied.

Even after you responded to donn's response you still leave a wide open palette of grasses that could fill your want or ideas.

I would like to suggest that you go to the library or a good book store and see what books on ornamental grasses are available.

Get Rick Darke's book as the nucleus of your grass research. Do some reading, and then make a decision.

donn offered a good grass and there is so many more Miscanthus that could be used. Pennisetum grasses could be a choice that might work well.

Do some research as this will be the best tool in your garden bag if tricks.

There are so many choices! Most of them are excellent and will survive Michigan winters.
