friend of mine is searching for a supplier of seeds for what he calls a "self healing gourd". says you slice off what you want to eat, fry it up, and the remainder of the gourd on the vine heals itself and keeps right on growing.
sounds like one of the bitter gourds to me but i admit im not that knowledgeable about gourds. any ideas?
"Healing Squash" is available at the South Carolina Foundation Seed Association at http://virtual.clemson.edu/groups/seed/heirloom.htm, on their heirloom vegetable page. This gourd/squash can be cut in half when young and eaten as squash and the gourd will heal and produce a mature fruit.
