Pumpkins, Squash & Gourds

Soil for winter squash bed

I am going to be installing a 4'x8'x10" raised bed for pumpkins and acorn squash this year. Since the bed is obviously going to take a great deal of medium to fix, and therefore, be pricey, I wanna make sure I do this right. I was going to go w. a 50/50 mixture of Miracle-Gro potting soil and Miracle-Gro garden soil.

What do you guys think?

Winter squash LOVES rich compost, and will even thrive in unfinished compost. My winter squash bed is mostly compost from my bin at home (50% at least) and I've mixed in vermiculite, aged manure and a coir/peat mixture. To hold in moisture, I top dressed the bed with mulch.

Thanks Paper. This stuff is pretty readily available at the garden centers around here. Do you think this would suffice?
