Good old DavesGarden.com in its Plant Scout section gives several sources for Hakonechloa macra, but none specifically for Beni Kaze. Good luck -- I'm looking, too -- all the sources seem awfully pricy!

A very new introduction, it is pricey even from wholesalers. Sorry, I don't know any mail order sources and only one of my OG vendors is offering it this year.

I was in a physician's waiting room this morning, and looked at a Better Homes & Gardens magazine -- amazingly enough it was current.

Saw a photo of a bed with simply gorgeous OG clumps, and thought, "Oh, goody! This is as gorgeous as hakonechloa -- maybe it's easier to find!"

Grrrrumble! It WAS hakonechloa (macra aureole). Just hope the whole world doesn't find it and drive the price even higher!

Bluestone perennials has them this year

I got one from Wayside Gardens as a substitute for a variegated form. It was about $10 for a 4" pot, but I understand they grow quickly!
