Mine took over 2 weeks to start. So be patient. Hopefuly they will start anytime now. Good luck.

They are hard to germinate and like A LOT of warmth.
Try scratching the seed surface, placing in a folded moist coffee filter and sealing it in a baggie with a little air in it. Place on a heating mat or in a very warm window. This works for me.

you all did good with the advise.. I placed my peat pots in a warmer location and kept sure they were moist at all time.. finally, its been almost three weeks.. I got about a 70% germination rate.. Thank you All.

It doesn't seem to matter when I put the seeds in or how long they've been there, they won't start to grow until it's good and hot.(They tend to take a long time to germinate.) Rule of thumb for me - if eggplant will grow, so will the loophas. I've also noticed that they are pollinated primarily by two things here - bumblebees and ants. Leave the ants alone and they will pollinate the plant but won't mound near the plant. I don't know what kind of ants they are, but they are not fire ants. Everywhere I have planted the loophas the ants have appeared. If you plant it, they will come. :)
If anyone wants seeds, I'm your girl. I probably have close to a gallon from this year alone.
