Golden Delicious Squash

Hi! I'm a first time gardener, so please be gentle with me :-)

My question is about what to do for my golden delicious squash plant. We had several mishaps with our seed starts this winter, and so the composition of our garden changed up quite a bit. I ended up sticking the one straggling GD start that survived in a very small lasagna bed outside the regular garden, thinking I didn't want to take up valuable space if it wasn't going to survive. Of course, it has really done well. My problem is that it will quickly outgrow the tiny lasagna bed, leaving the majority of the full-grown plant it to trail down in the grass. Is that okay? Should I try to modify the area around it? The squash would be too large for a trellis, right? Any other suggestions or info is great appreciated! Thanks!
