Have you ever planted a running plant and tried to keep it contained with some kind of barrier? I would like to try this in my new garden. i have crocosmia and Jacob's Kline bee balm.I need these running plants for my hummingbirds! In my last garden I spent more time trying to control the stuff I planted then on weed control. I am thinking about using a large bottomless pot or flexible edging to contain the bee balm and crocosmia, what do you think? I know better this time than to plant: lysimachia (all of them except Minutissima), Oenathera speciosa, Gooseneck loosestrife (another lysimachia), Campanula punctata, ranunculus 'Buttered Popcorn', Verbena rigida, Anemone tomentosa, Salvia and last but not least, Artemisia 'Oriental Limelight'(it looked so cute in the pot).
