ok, so it looks like no one has any ideas or suggestions on what's wrong with my junipers, that's okay. But how about suggestions on something else I can plant on this rocky clay hill..it can't take a lot of work like bloom picking/deadheading because it's a steep hill and not something I want to be climbing around on a lot (sliding down a lot is more like it!). THanks for any help. BTW -great site..I've looked around a lot and saw lots of great tips everywhere..learned more about plants and gardening in these last few days than I ever knew!

You don't say how much sun the hill gets. I have a steep hill at the back of my house and have just planted azaleas, hostas, ferns and gardinia. My hill gets a little morning sun, but that is all. I also had some day lillies that thrived on this hill - along with ivy. I pulled the ivy last year and planted this year. Hope this helps

A couple of things come to mind about the original problem. Is water from the pool getting on them? And are you sure you haven't planted them too deep? It's tricky to plant on a steep slope.
