They'd probably be much better off if you just waited until fall to plant them. Just keep the pots in a nice semi-shady location until late September or October and then plant and their roots systems will have all winter to develop without the shock of the heat and you won't have to water nearly as much.

I would wait for the fall too - it would be easier on both of you!
