Miracle-Gro and Pumpkins?

I just planted over a 1/4 acre plot of pumpkins, rows and hills spaced 10ft apart and have no way of watering them other than manually dumping a bucket on each hill every so often so just wondering if the plants would benefit from a gallon of water mixed with a Tablespoon of the water soluble Miracle-Gro 24-8-16 once a week or so until they start flowering and then I will switch to a 9-23-30 granular fertilizer. Also, when I start with the 9-23-30 how much do I want to put around each hill and how often? 2-3 plants per hill.
