Please rain!

Is someone holding an invisible umbrella over Macon? It rains, North, South, East and West of us, but not here. It will get cloudy, start thundering and we all look to the heavens and pray, but no rain. I was only watering my lawn once per week in June, figuring that surely we'd get rain at least once during the week. Ha! No way!

So in July I'm watering heavy twice per week and if it rains that would be nice. We have odd/even restrictions here, but in May and June they were impossible to follow. The state restrictions were no watering between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm and the city restrictions were no watering between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm.. Huh? Then somebody realized that it only left watering times between 10:00 pm and and 10:00 am.. When were people supposed to sleep and work? So the city lifted their restrictions and now we can water between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm or in the morning before 10:00 am. Da! Thank you!

I'm eager to plant a tree and a couple of shrubs in the back yard, but I'll have to make myself wait until fall.

The one good thing about watering in the hot weather is that it helps with weight control. lol

We got almost 2 inches of rain last night. We haven't had any rain in 3-4 weeks. My garden looks so happy this morning. Not to mention my lawn that was brown. I hope you got some rain too!

Pretty pathetic but I keep checking weather forecasts, of course they vary so much and keep changing 50%, 40%- just saw a 60% chance of rain for Macon, like that one! Guess we'll see in a few hours. Iveyrose it does seem we have gotten showers all around us. Perhaps I'll join my garden and take a nap until fall.

I know how you feel about this rain. The same thing is happening here in booferd. The last significant rain was back when I was complaining the last time about a 2-3 weeks ago. Then it rained for a couple days then that was it.
Yesterday it was all scary and thunder then nothing. It was a tease. When I woke up today it was wet out but I could tell it didn't rain that much because it's not a muddy mess out there.
Meanwhile the radar shows rain all around my area but the storms always break up and disappear by the time it gets here.

ive, I think you got your wish! A big line of thunderstorms coming your way. Some just past here in BOOFERD. Thunder so bad my cats hid. Good rain too. I'm glad because otherwise I would have had to get the sprinklers out. We still have some parched spots from the drought period.

Yeah I should say that was a thunderstorm allright.
My patio set nearly blew off the deck. I came outside to survey the damage and found plywood that was in my truck was laying in the driveway, trash can knocked over, dirt and rain blown all over the front porch. There's a tree across the street that lost a branch that is now laying on the ground. And you think your cats were hiding. When I saw the umbrella and table go flying I grabbed the dogs and ran into the bath/saferoom. (I'm a wuss)

Yes, I watched it march across Macon, so I hope iveyrose got some good stuff. If it was anything like it was here, iveyrose might've lost her power. We didn't lose ours, but there are some areas nearby that did.

It's a miracle! It started raining here in Macon around 6:00 pm tonight and didn't stop for at least four hours. Praise the Lord!

Wonderful! Our brown centipede is turning green just overnight and so is our pasture. Now to go turn over some mulch and see how far it soaked in. The extended forecast now says chance of rain for the next 6 or 7 days. Yay!

    Hooray! Allright! Yeah!

My two day total: 0.04" with only rumbling thunder. I was in Palmetto(15 miles away) yesterday and there was 5-10 minutes of heavy rain. They had had even more rain on Thursday and that missed me too. Usually I get rain when nobody else does, so I guess I'm gonna be the dry spot for a while now!
