I'm growing pumpkins vertically this year and several secondary roots have formed. A few are a couple of inches long.
Will they continue to grow until they reach the dirt if they're kept moist?
I wrapped some stubby ones in a paper towel with dirt inside, but they grew and busted through!
How can I take advantage of the extra roots?
