I am new to this, second year of gourds. Last and first year is was a fluke that they just came up in the flower bed. God planted them. This year I am training them on my back barb wire fence. Is this a bad idea? Are they going to get too heavy to support themselves? I'm not even sure which varieties I have planted, but hopefully big ones for the bowls. Any help would be great. Also, I have alot of flowers but few gourds. Mostly male flowers. Do the female flowers come off of the main vine? Do I need to fertilize more? I have cows. Thanks, Mint for you
