curly tipped brown sedge

I currently have this growing in 2 spots in my yard. I got them from ebay about a year and a half ago but never really got any directions about how to care for them. They are still very small with a diameter of about 4 inches, I've never cut them down but am wondering if I should be. I cant seem to find any info on the net about the curly tipped kind. I did find one variety of the brown sedge on teh net but that one looked like a mop head type. Are they the same with the same care?

You shouldn't have to cut them back at all, lil. If you're talking about Carex petriei, then they only get about 8 in. tall, max.

@lilmonsters: i guess you have some carex buchananii in your pots. those are evergreen (in their case "everbrown" lol) and should only be cut back if they are old and need some light for the middle of the plant. if you want to be sure about their id just google under pictures with the botanical name. btw those buchananii grow quite slow and need a moist but sunny place.
