What you need to do is to make sure you get all the bulblets. They are very easy plants to move. Just dig up and move. When the foliage turns brown, cut it back then (after move). Next year you may see loads of babies coming up in the old spot, you'll have to be dilligent and really sift through to get them all out. Two years ago I thought I'd dug up all the gladioli. I had pots and pots for the trade, and they are STILL flowering in my garden :)
