I think a northern exposure for fig may cause it to burn some winters if we get a freeze.
I have kadsura vine, and so does a friend of mine. We found them at the Urban Gardener. They do not seem to be the least bit invasive!

Have done some reading on GGG's recommended kadsura vine. Sounds wonderful!! Have others of you grown it also? I'd love to get some mid-summer cuttings if possible.

I don't really know how big it will get here. I first saw them as plants for the Pacific North West, Forest Farms and Herronswood featured them. My friend's is about 2 stories tall, but not wide because she trains it taller than wider.

Sometimes she roots around here on GW. Xamy, are you out there?

I am so psyched about this vine. What I'd like is to find someone I can take cuttings from. I'll do the rooting. If I can get some started this year I think they'd be ready to plant in the spring - about the same time houses go up behind me - arrgghhh.

Rosie, I can try layering some for you. I is a hard vine to find. Mine is still in the pot, and I'll see what I can do. Never propagated this one before, but it seems that layering should work for this type of vine.

Have you seen the new tri-colored leaf confederate jasmine? It is also hard to find, but the leaves are GORGEOUS!

Heavenscent might love the variegated Confederate Jasmine, Trachelospermum jasminoides 'Variegata'. I love it too but I'm north of Atlanta and question hardiness. Some list it for 7B, others zones 8-10.

Varigated "Jasmine sounds nice but will it grow well in those conditions?
I just got back from a weekend trip to Savannah, creeping fig everywhere! Arghh! I love that vine!
