I have so many daylilies are over crowding and should divide this year. Also few new things to my amazement easily started from seeds. I hope my brugs will be large to share as well as collect more.

I was starting to wonder whether it was too soon to ask about a fall swap. I'm definitely interested, as always. I'll come to it no matter where it is, but I always love coming to your house, Glynis, if it's not too much to ask. Or anyone else's house if someone else wants to show off their yard.

Grilling out sounds like fun and is something we've never done yet. Maybe we could do this trade later in the afternoon or evening, too, and make more of a party of it afterwards??

I'm game as usual. My mom and I will plan to be there if we know the date in advance. Any place is fine by us!

Farmerpickle, you and anyone else are welcome to come visit anytime if you don't mind the drive =). It's nowhere near a show garden yet but it gets a little better every year. Right now I'm working on reclaiming my weedy areas and ammending the terrible clay in my daylily field and that is a bear!

My rooting bed is a small setup and easy to do -- if you don't want to make the drive I'd be happy to send you some pics and details. I wouldn't mind hosting a swap one of these days but I figured trekking out across the Alabama state line might be a little far for some folks lol.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for the Fall trade soon!

Hi Danielle, I didn't know you're near AL. I'm going to Blue Waters, Pelham, Alabama for scuba diving certification in September.It's going to be very tight schedule. Let me know if it's on your way and we'll see.

Hi Farmerpickle. I would imagine you're coming across on I-20 West? If so I'm only about 4 miles off the interstate, 2nd exit across the AL state line (Exit 205 Ranburne).

Just LMK the date and if you still want to drop by for a visit when your certification gets closer I'll try to make sure I'm home that day.

My fiance loved scuba diving class before his spinal condition limited his mobility and was certified at one time. He'd probably love to chat with another diver too. You are welcome to e-mail me privately if you want to talk about this more so we don't hijack the Fall Swap thread completely lol.

I'm a newbee to the Ga Gardening Forum and I would REALLY like to attend a plant swap. How gracious of you to offer to offer to host. What if I don't have any plants to swap? Can I bring a covered dish?

It sounds like Glynis is hosting again and she always puts out all the information you'll need about the swap on the exchange pages once they settle on a date. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say you are more than welcome to come plants or no plants. There may be some things you could bring to trade after all that you may not have even considered. Some of us are always looking for a wide range of items like empty pots, gardening books/magazines, tools, dirt, rocks, decorations, items for the home, teaching supplies, etc.... just to give you some examples. We'll all start posting our "Haves" and "Want" lists soon which is fun. Of course extra food is always needed too 'cause plant swapping works up a good appetite!

October 13 looks ok for me.

I could not come on October 20 as we are having a major cleanup in our neighborhood on that day - it's actually a Beltline cleanup; the first leg of the Beltline trail is going to be built just up the street from my house beginning this winter. Volunteers from throughout the city are being sought for the October 20 cleanup, if anyone is interested in participating.

The 13th is good for me but I am available the 20th as well. Please don't do it the 27th as that weekend before Halloween is always jammed for most of us with kids.

Thanks for offering to host again. It is always fun coming to your garden. I'm good any weekend except the first and last of October. It's been a terrible summer for plants but I'll try to find some things to bring.

I should be able to attend. The only weekend I have plans is the last weekend of October. My mom's been dropping hints about coming, so I think she'll be back, too. I'm not going to go too crazy with lots of stuff (I think I say that every year), because I'm pregnant! :)

How about we try Saturday October 13th for the swap, here at my house, same one we used in the spring because a) we are still here, and b) there are three GIANT piles of dirt behind the purple house with no hopes in moving until someone offers me a very well paying job (hint hint anyone with money!!) so I can afford to get someone to build retaining walls, a patio...oh my!!

If we don't have much to trade, we can still have a garden party for anyone who wants to attend. I sure won't have much to trade. Almost everything I have is dead, or sure is doing it's best impression of a dead plant. We can commiserate together.
