Is there such a thing as a "good" tree around a swimming pool - one from which the roots won't crack concrete, throw seeds/acorns/leaves into the pool, etc.

A small pin oak (8" or so diameter) was 15 feet from the pool when I installed it in 1987. Although the shade is excellent over the deck, the tiny acorns are a first class nuisance. Also, I am concerned that the roots are putting pressure on the walls under ground. The tree is now almost 20 inches in diameter.
