We have a pretty new park not far from where I live in Lawrenceville. My little son and I go there to use the playground and take walks on the path. I had been taking the trail and "tut tutting" at all of the Japanese stilt grass and privets. Then my mom came to visit. When we walked there together, she kept stopping and pointing out all of the natives. There were tons of ferns and even some trillium! Boy, do I have a lot to learn! Since then I've been trying to see beyond the weeds. Maybe I can apply this new perspective to my own yard!
