Ornamental Grass

karl foerster growing strange

I have two of these guys for five years now and have always looked great .This year they are short, blooming and only about 18 inches high.Does not look like karl foerster at all.We had a very wet spring and flooding this year thinking this could be the problem.Any ideas

It could very well be the wet conditions. KF is a cool season grass, and if its spring growing season was hampered by excessively wet conditions (flooding especially), growth could be stunted. It should in no way affect them for the next growing season.

thanks for the info on the plus side all my miscanthus grasses are off the chart large.maybe some radiation got on my land. ha ha
