Vinca Minor groundcover

Looking for advice from someone with lots of experience growing Vinca Minor in Northern California where temps can be in triple digits. We have an extensive amount of this groundcover in our yard and some of the areas that get a good deal of summer sun have a negative effect on the Vinca.

Would it be wise to water these areas every day in the mornng during the summer and mulch to retail moisture? At present, these areas are getting watered three days a week.

Also, we have get very little bloom on our Vinca.

I always thought of vinca as a shade loving plant, not for sunny spots. maybe that's the problem.

I agree - Vinca minor is not very happy in much sun. Anything more than part sun (or even sun during the hot part of the day only) typically results in reduced vigor, including lack of flowering, slow growth and a chlorotic appearance. I'm not sure extra watering would help. Vinca is rather drought tolerant once established but that is in a normal shady location.

Maybe consider replacing the vinca in the sunny areas with something more suited to that situation.
