I can't help you but I would like to do the same thing. I planted two paw paws about three years ago and they are the same size as when I planted them. Obviously, they must be unhappy, but I put them at the edge of the woods because they are supposed to be understory trees. Also, they are supposed to be native to my neck of the woods.
I have never seen nor tasted a paw paw. Looks like I won't be getting any fruit from my little sticks for a long time. What have I done wrong??

yomamanem, this link is to a publication by UGA called Minor Fruits and Nuts in Georgia (my neighborhood is the main link to major fruits and nuts in Georgia). It has some info about pawpaws. It seems pawpaws come in both tree and shrub forms. Is it possible you have pawpaw shrubs? Hope there is some info in the article that helps you. Sorry I don't have pawpaws for either of you to taste.

I ordered from them a couple years ago and sampled. I learned I love pawpaw fruit! Some day my paw paw trees will be of bearing age, but not yet-- the 4 trees I planted in 2003 are a lot bigger than the tiny sticks I put in the ground but still got aways to go.

jennifratrix....I am tempted to order some pawpaws, but they don't give me any indication of the shipping and handling costs. I don't mind $10 for the fruit, but they could be high on SH.
