Unless you want to spray or water a lot, get knockouts.

I have a few others I do not spray. They usually end up leafless. Knockouts are FABU, and you can get 'em in such a nice choice of colors now...

Knockouts are good, but you could also try some of the earthkind roses. Mutabilis, Carefree Beauty, Caldwell Pink are a few that are worth checking out.

If you don't want to limit yourself to knockouts, there is a new spray on the market that is quite effective. It's Bayer Disease Control. You can spray every 2-3 weeks and it not only prevents disease but will stop it.

I'm not familiar with Lyda (she looks lovely). Just keep in mind that Heirloom sells bands, which are basically year old seedlings in a 4 inch pot. But they do grow quite well very quickly. I have two that I bought earlier this year and they are ready to go in the ground. It could take 2-3 years before they make an impressive hedge.
