I don't think the yellow spots are anything to worry about.
Check the underside of the leaf and see if there are rows of insect eggs where the spot is. This could be a squash bug. If you find the rows of insect eggs, just tear out that part of the leaf and destroy it.

Thanks Jan....I will check them in the morning..I am still a newbie to the gourd thing..Everything will be different next year..I probably won't even bother with the Ornamental ones either next year..To much room for what you get..NH

Seriously, you just have to try and see what works best for you. A good gourd reference book is "Gourds in Your Garden", by Ginger Summit. It covers a lot of things and is easy to read. Check it out at your library, or pick it up at any book store. It was one of my favorites until someone walked off with it at a craft show this summer.
