Most of mine are blooming, but only in their second season so not too impressive since the very dry spring didn't help. The list includes Zebra Grass, Adagio, Gulf Muhly, and Ruby Savannah. Lindheimer's Muhly is not blooming yet here.

I'm glad you started this thread because I want to collect seeds from the Mexican Feather Grass so need to know at what point you pick them. The blooms are small and it's hard to tell when they are open. Right now they are at different stages so should be a good time.

My zebras are not showing any signs of blooming yet. My MFG has a few seeds on it, but like you I'm not sure when and what I should collect. I want to add more of it next year so hoping to sow some late summer.

The Hamelns are second year plants, but it's the first year I've had them. They have grown very little since I planted them late May so I'm not sure if they'll even bloom.

Generally, grass seeds are ripe and ready when the stalk holding the seed head has turned brown, just below the seed head.

The way to be certain is to take a paper grocery bag out, bend a few seed heads down into the bag, and give them a bit of a shake. If seeds fall off into the bag, they're ready.

My M. Adagio I planted early this spring is in full bloom now. I planted a Pennisetum Cassian a two weeks ago which had one bloom and it now has about five. Spring planted Little Bluestem "The Blues" has got one bloom. And my Northwinds are in full bloom with some 6 feet tall.

I am really happy with the Northwinds and M. Adagio. I did not realize that M. Adagio bloomed so early. Nothing I read seemed to indicate this.

I have a m.Graziella that seems to be doing fine and a m.Silberfeder that has a lot of flopping outside stalks. I know it is still early for them to start blooming.
