Soil test help

Hello everyone. I had purchased some compost recently from a company that was recomended by a friend that said she has used this company and compost for a while with good results. It is supposedly soil with composted manure and who knows if anything else.

I bought some, and sent some out to the UF/IFAS Analytical Services Laboratories Extension Soil Testing Laboratory for a soil test.

The results are below.

Notice that the PH is 8.3. Very high. All the areas tested are very high. Pegged high.. I am hoping for some input from you all.

I have to do something about the PH. Any ideas of what could cause such a high PH? And is it ok with the really high amounts on the other areas?

Being that I bought yards worth and some is already in beds, it might be a pain to ask to return it.

Thanks much as always,

------------------

pH (1:2 Sample:Water) 8.3

A-E Buffer Value:N/A

V HIGH

PHOSPHORUS (ppm P) > 280

POTASSIUM (ppm K) > 534

MAGNESIUM (ppm Mg) > 305

CALCIUM (ppm Ca) > 4360

Soil test values noted with a ">" sign exceeded the normal working range of our extraction method and are interpreted as high or very high for P, K, or Mg. No positive plant response to addition of the nutrient is likely. In some circumstances, addition of this nutrient to the soil could be detrimental to plant performance or to the environment.
