Is it possible for ornamental gourds & pumpkins to cross pollinate and produce a new gourd???

Had these gourds , name unknown to me-small orange/yellow with green bottom-short-medium neck(last year) and mini & regular pumpkins(last year) saved seeds from both. of the ornamental gourd seed it would appear they have cross pollinated with the pumpkin, because they look like a medium size(couple pounds tops) pumpkin with a green bottom-no neck-is this possible??
