I, too, planted my first ornamental grass garden this year. I started bold. I planted some morning lights, zebras, gracillimus, and sarabande. I just love'em!

panicum,northwind tops my list. next would be korean feather reed a fall blooming karl forester.

Of course the list could go on but the afore mentioned would be my list if I were to start a grass bed in a new landscape design. Not necesaarily all in one bed but these grasses would get first consideration.

For those not knowing anything about Miscanthus s. "BEN" grasses, these were developed by a gentleman who started and owned Bald Eagle Nursery in Fulton IL. thus the BEN mongram on the a few of the grasses I chose.

I also started Sorghastrum nutans, Andropogon gerardii, Schizachyrium scoparium, Bouteloua curtipendula, and Chasmanthiam latifolium from seed this year but they were too small this year to tell what they'll look like.
