Dormant bulbs planted now might begin to sprout in the warm soil. Bulbs already in the soil don't do that, but ones that were held out of the soil might once they get exposed to the moisture/warmth of the soil.

I always plant spring bulbs in late Oct. or early Nov. You can frequently find good sales on them at that time too.
