What are you growing? if the pumpkin is an Atlantic giant like your name implies (or really any pumpkin) don't pinch the main unless you want smaller fruit.

Okay thanks, sorry i couldn't find a post early and forgot how many feet it was to pinch them at. I have medium sugar pumpkins, and i have atlantic giant pumpkins.

We are in early September already, you are in zone 7, and you do not a pumpkin fruit on your vine?
Even if you do get one right now it will not get most probably much bigger than a small cantilope by the time it cools off.
Pumpkins are warm weather loving crops and as such they will not thrive in cool weather. If you were in south GA, FL, AL, CA, NV, AR,.. you could hope for something but not in MD. That is what I think.

Well im in florida and we don't cool off till mid november, so ill be fine, and i just found 2 female flowers. so they should be ready soon hopefully

Sure, in Florida you may have a chance, especially if you are in the southern part, zone 9 or higher.
