This is pretty typical of pumpkins, squashes etc. The males appear first and then the females will arrive. It does take some time. I watched a Youtube video and the guy was saying to lightly brush the male flowers' pollen because he believes that it encourages the plant to put out females. The idea is that the males flower first to see if there are pollinators available. This makes sense to me since it takes a lot for a plant to develop and maintain fruit. Your plant is acting normal. Every now and then you will hear of someone who gets female flowers first and there aren't any males to pollinate the fruit.
