Consider Aucuba japonica, although for anything, be sure to give it adequate moisture in the first year until it develops a more extensive root system.

I saw a beautiful display of fatshedera growing under a huge tree among the large roots. The ground was in total shade and dry as a bone.

Look into Sarcococca, Danae, Ruscus, Cyrtomium and Aspidistra. All evergreen and tolerant of dry shade.

Esthermgr, just this morning I was admiring a beautifully planted slope of exotics at the University of North Carolina's botanic garden in Charlotte.
