If you mean Mandevilla as in the annual vine the answer is yes to rooting cuttings. This late in summer it is perhaps not as successful as it would have been earlier in the spring. You need cuttings that are still in a growth state and are semi-ripe. Use rooting hormone and bottom heat for best results.

I have been able to store Mandevilla in my garage unheated (40°-50°) in two gallon pots over winter and they do fine come spring. Only water when dry. The same works equally well for Angel Trumpets if you want to start with earlier blooms come spring. I keep lights on the Angels until they lose their leaves.
