Two seed houses with the largest assortments of ornamental grass seed, Jelitto and Ivy Garth, don't carry them, so I would assume you can't grow it from seed successfully. Chances are, any germination would result in the very invasive basic species.

I would like to start 200-300 plants of this grass that's why I was looking for seeds. Do you know what are the best way to start such quantity keeping costs down. I was looking for the nurseries in Netherlands and Poland who might carry this grass, but so far can't find anything in small sizes.

The cheapest way I know of is to buy liners, trays of small plant 'plugs' and grow them from there.

They will have 50-sized liners next July, for $1.29 + shipping, per plant ($64.50 per tray). 50-sized liners are 50 plants in a standard tray. Each plant will have a rootball approximately 1.5" in diameter and a little over 2" deep.

The best way to deal with them would be to pot them on to larger cell trays or individual pots, and grow them on for a month or so before installing them in the ground.

Do you by any chance know a nursery in Europe which might sell plugs. Since I'm in Europe, I do not think that I can not import anything from USA with the soil on it. Also, since I am in the zone 4 would not there be a problem introducing the plant from zone 6 (Netherland)? Will it survive the winter?
