The only thing I know is a table wreath. Attach pine greenery to a wire wreath, then attach pine cones and lemons at decorative intervals. Put a hurricane lamp with a big candle in the center. It's the only decoration I've ever made. One year I set it on a bed of magnolia leaves - just to up the greenery a little bit. It looked nice with the magnolia leaves. If you use magnolia leaves with the dark brown underside, it picks up the color in the pine cones.
As for the hypertufa trough, all I can think of is miniature evergreens and maybe votives. Something to welcome people to the front door.

I don't have any holly, but I alway have tons of red Nandina berries still on the bushes. I mix bunches of them with either pine or magnolia. They will last as long as the greens,

I have also used red camellias in water pics with the greens. You may also make rustic looking wreaths from grape vines.

I've used juniper clippings and holly. This year, I have magnolia leaves and may even use the pods with red seeds.

I'm not sure which forum I read it on but someone was suggesting making wreaths with painted sweet gum balls. If you googled it you might find some instructions.
