Can you tell me if this grass will reseed a lot. I winter sowed these grasses for my garden last year and just love the plant. I know it is not to be cut back til spring and I also read the seeds are wonderful for the birds all winter. But will I have a mess come springtime. Thanks for your help.

There are several different varieties of "Fountain Grass," Pennisetum. Some self-seed and some don't. In my much warmer climate, only Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Moudry' did it so vigorously I finally had to shovel prune it. I have several other varieties which only self-seed a little, and others not at all.
