I bought some swan-shaped gourds and had a feeling they were harvested too early. Now they are getting all moldy and starting to dry out, but some of the necks are rotting.

My question is: Will the rest of the gourd dry so I can at least use the bottom of it, or will the whole gourd rot? I plan to make planters out of them and prefer to have the neck but could just use the bottom if possible.
