to figure out why my seeds were brown? I grew butternut squash this yr for the first time. My plants were very prolific. Still growing.. I cut one of the first ones off & let it cure for about 2 1/2 weeks. Ate it yesterday, it was delicious. When I cut it open the seeds were large & brown. Can anyone tell me why this happened? It was certainly mature & I've heard that they can't over ripen??
