I just put in two raspberry bushes. One was Heritage, and the other was Canby. I know I can cut down the heritage in fall, and the Canby must be allowed to keep it's canes. My question is... They are in a 2 foot wide by 6 foot long bed. I know they will sucker, and grow profusely, but are they as troublesome as mint?? Everyone I have talked to told me that if I watch them, and remove suckers (not very hard to do) then the patch won't grow out of control. I would love it to do that, but I have a small area in a suburban yard. It's actually planted on the side of the house, next to the lot line... so like I metioned, containment is a must. I love to get my hands in the dirt, and will keep my attention on it if need be. What are your experiences with growth?? Thanks.
