One of my favorites. I think its the best formed dwarf maiden grass. They should really look great next year. I hope you'll get a chance to post some pics.

Adagio is one of my favorites also. In fact I like all the Bluemel like name ones, Arabesque, Andante, Adagio. Now if I could just get Andante from one of my favorite wholesale suppliers, I would be happy. Ahem---

Andante huh? Sounds like a grass worth growing...

Adagio is one of my favorites. Mine is on it's third year and what a beautiful form it has. The plumes are so thick this year that the grass is almost completely hidden.

tjsangel -can you post some pictures? Would love to see your Adagio.

All three --Adagio, Andante, and Arabesque are smaller Miscanthus. And even though some sources say Z6, they do well here in Z5, where we have substantial snow cover.

And yes, Andante is a grass worth growing, and I hope I can find it on the east coast soon. I can get Adagio, and Arabesque on the east coast, but I've only found Andante from west coast growers (wholesale). For some reason, when I buy from the west cost growers, I often have Miscanthus go into dormancy. They come out again soon, but I still lose growing time. The plugs from the west coast growers are excellent, but if I can I will get them from the east coast growers, such as Walters Gardens, and Emerald Coast. Unfortunately Walters has such a limited selection. Anyway...back to Adagio, the grass at hand :)

I will try to take pics when my batteries charge. I've been having problems with my camera lately. I'll have to check out some of these other Miscanthus varieties, they sound intriguing : )
