Is a wall switch required with an air switch or can power go directly to the air switch box?

I use them 90% of the time unless a home is already wired for the other. Firstly I find wall switches annoying for a gd because it gets turned on at two am when someone wants a light. With island installs there is often no good place for the switch anyhow. The air switch just needs a constant supply of power, and since dishwasher installations now require an accessible outlet (versus hardwired) there is always an open outlet under the sink.
