I've been wondering the same thing about that variety. I've grown plain M. capillaris here in Portland, and it did bloom...but was REALLY late...and by that time, our rains had returned and the flowers got kind of beaten up. An earlier-blooming variety would be nice! Also...I've been wondering about the similar M. reverchonii...does it bloom earlier or later (or about the same)?

I don't know anything about reverchonii.

M. riverchonnii blooms much earlier than M. capillaris. Mine bloomed late mid to late summer and the M. capillaris didn't bloom until mid fall. I didn't time it exactly but the M. riverchonii was well past its prime color by fall.
