What happens to your water supply, when you rubber stamp every building permit and make no provisions for increasing water treatment and storage?

Our daughter, who lives in Alpharetta and had contracted with a painter a couple of weeks before the total water ban, had a policeman (Hickel?) to give her a warning because the painters were pressure washing her house yesterday. The pressure washing was stopped till the company owner could check with Alpharetta to see if he could continue the pressure washing. Evidently they said no because he brought water in and had them hand wash the back of the house. But the painters were using her water to clean their brushes and rollers. She couldn't get in touch with the owner and she couldn't speak Spanish enough to explain the problem to the painters. She said she kept repeating, 'No agua, no agua.' I told her that if she has to pay a fine because of that the painting company should pay it for her.

That reminds me once of a thing alpharetta PD did to me. They set an unmarked car up in the middle of the road at night with the blinkers on to look broken down. The road had a double yellow line. I slowed down to carefully pass the car and seconds later I was pulled over and ticketed for driving on the wrong side of the road. Alpharetta pd is a joke and I hope they ticket themselves all day long. I feel sorry for anyone that lives there. Now you cant even water new professionally installed landscaping in that town. What a great quality of life.

I'm curious. Did the policeman say what you should have done? How else did he expect you to pass the broken down car?

QQ, that sounds like entrapment. I got a ticket in Alpharetta about 8 years ago. The guy said I didn't wait the full 3 seconds after coming to a stop at a stop sign. I have always been very wary of Alpharetta police since then.

It was 2 cops. I learned from another bad experience that you just keep your mouth shut and sign the ticket. If you want to risk higher penalty, you can explain it to the judge. I never have the time so I always just paid it.

How was I supposed to pass the car? I was supposed to do exactly what I did. Cross the double line, get the ticket. I did what most other people would have done a 1am, is to stop or slow down, carefully pass and move on. I'm not going to be a good samaritan at 1 am to some car broken down. I'll leave that to AAA.
