I tried a havahart trap last night with PB (only because I didn't have any lettuce or carrots or whatever). This was before I read this and I was sure I would catch something but I didn't. It was in prime rabbit munching grounds but at the very least I thought I'd catch me a rat to eat for breakfast.

By the way here in Gwin, animal control rents the traps but you can also get squirrel sized ones at lowes for about $20

I gathered up some leaves from royal empress weeds this afternoon and stuck that in the trap with some chopped up stems. If i didn't know better I'd say it was romaine lettuce with some celery. Finally a use for those trees. I have a bunch of those leaves in the refrigerator.

A .410 pump works good and is not too loud.

Geez. Just put some corn out for them. You will then have resident squirrels that will keep out others. If you get rid of the squirrels that you have, more will just come in the yard.

buford has it right - get rid of the ones you have and that makes available space for other ones! I know someone in west Cherokee that has relocated over 30 in one year - they just keep coming!

Let a dog run in your yard a couple of weeks; that should scare them off.
