For the forthcoming FAQ, can anyone relate how they defied zone limits and related factors such as temperature extremes (cold or hot), arid or humid conditions, predominantly sunny versus cloudy weather? How about other factors like soil pH, excessively windy conditions, or other challenges?

There are already a lot of informative posts on this forum. It seems that most of us have been succeeding by trial and error. Additonal input would help to systematize what we've learned for the FAQ.
