You might try call Pike's but give them the botanical name as I have never heard it called paper plant.

Yes, I'd call everywhere before you drive around. I'm pretty sure that Autumn Hill (Hickory Flat) had some at one point but you'd better check first.

By the way, I think it looks much better when it has leaves on it. Looks like a rhododendron. Why do they call it a paper plant?

I work Saturdays at Wilkerson Mill and if I am not mistaken we have a LOT of it. I can check today and let you know, and how much they cost. I am certain we only have one gallon size if we still have them.

I brought one home a couple years ago and it is a marvelous plant. The leaves are very attractive and those flowers have a wonderful scent. I'll show you a picture of mine with its leaves.(taken 4/27/05)

The Atlanta Botanical Garden has some fine examples growing in the shady area near the entrance, by that small tiled fish pond. Mine came from Picadilly Farms about 3 years ago. It was not cheap, about $25. It has grown faster than I expected, also seems to grow wider rather than taller. I would bear that in mind when siting it. You need to be able to see its spreading structure when it is naked in the winter. It's shedding its leaves right now and the flower buds are ready on the end of each branch. It is growing in a border with Pieris, Camellias, azaleas and Daphne odora. Hope this helps.

I checked with the USDA plant zone map and it says Woodstock is zone 7b, so I'm assuming the plant is cold hardy in my area. If so, I'm going to order one from Wilkerson Mill.

Have you called Autum Hill? I don't know where you are in Woodstock, but Autum Hill is not far.
