I think we'll also see some fast color changes this week. The foliage will look much different by next weekend.

My color changes seem to be going from green to brown to not there anymore. I have gathered up my pots and put what is left into the greenhouse, hoping for a better season next year. Our Master Gardener organization always has a Mothers Day plant sale, but we are not so sure that we are going to be successful this spring. People can't water and people don't want to buy new plants to water. One of our members, who is a plant grower who sells plants at our sale, has decided not to grow anything in his greenhouses for next spring. I sure hope the rains come. I know there are people who live in perpetual drought. They have developed tried and true ways to live and cope. We must start implementing new methods if we are going to be in drought off and on through the coming years.

I brought my potted tropicals in on Halloween. And I noticed that one of my hydrangeas looked like it did after the Easter freeze, fried!

So the cold weather is here. I'm glad. Let everthing go to sleep and use less water.
