The long view

I took some pictures of my back yard from the deck a few days ago. Although you can't see flowers up close and personal, you can see what I see out the back of my house. I stood on the deck and looked to my far right and took a picture. I continued turning a little more left each time, snapping pictures until the last one shows what was to my far left.

The mixed border is about 95' long and averages 18' deep.

The vegetable garden is 30' x 50' and now contains veggies, 2 daylily seedling areas plus 3 rows of registered daylilies. Who needs to eat? You may see a structure toward the back of the garden that protects our raspberries from the birds. Our property goes all the way to the driveway of the neighbors behind us.

The circular bed is 36' in diameter with paths from N, S, E, and W with an inner pathway.

The prairie bed at one time was all native plants but now also contains a couple dozen daylilies. You may see some white hybridizing tags at the front of that bed.

The shrub border is about 70' long

You can only see a little of the north bed since most of it is on the side of the house.

Thanks for looking.

I forgot to explain the foam in the pond. The day before these pictures were taken I had a couple of koi spawn and that always leaves the water murky and foamy. We don't talk about the fishy smell!!

Here is a closeup of some of the fish. The largest ones are at least 18" long.

Love your pond and the Koi are beautiful. Your pond must be pretty big. Can't really tell from the picture. How big is it?

Very impressive! Wow! It all looks perfect. You must enjoy your view very much....and your neighbors are quite fortunate as well. Love all the space you have (much envy here).

Thanks for letting us have a look!

You have some amazing gardens and a beautiful view.

I love the pond and the stones surrounding it. When we move, I'll have to get some pointers from you on keeping koi.

I think my favorite is the circular bed with the directional paths. What a great way to navigate through a large bed and leave room for you to weed. I think I might have to steal that idea!

Thanks for the tour of your magnificant garden!
I also have many gardens scattered around my property. However, I have a difficult time keeping up with the care, since I'm always planning new garden areas.

When I retire (hopefully in a year) I hope to be able to spend 8 - 10 hours/day up-keeping my yard.
