Jack in the pulpit is quite easy to grow. Those that have it naturally (it is a native plant that does well in moist areas such as along a creek bank) often have lots of it.

Sometimes it does go dormant in summer, I think it depends on whether it gets enough moisture.

They also perform in strange ways, at times. I have two young one's now up and blooming in a pot, with a Sourwood seedling, in the driveway. They have survived several nights of below freezing temps and 2 nights of 18F, yet are still green and healthy. I don't have an explanation.
These seedlings are from a local parent, found several years ago, near the Mall of Ga.

I recently moved and I don't get many catalogs anymore. Any suggestions on a few essentials I should request copies from? I can't recall which ones I got in the past.

My favorite is Plant Delights Nursery...they specialize in perennials.

Don't forget that some places (like Plants Delight) have web only specials and you won't find those in the printed catalog. Often these items are limited in quantity or they arrived too late to make the catalog print date.
